Rebecca Hayes-Copeland is a member of the Canadian Association of Professional Pet Dog Trainers (CAPPDT) and a mentor trainer for Animal Behavior College.
She has more than a decade experience working with dogs and solving behavior problems. She graduated from the Canadian Canine Training Corp in 2000, where she also apprenticed. Since then she has helped hundreds of dog owners help train their dogs into polite, attentive companions. She stays at the forefront of dog training knowledge and technique by regularly attending seminars given by leading instructors and theorists in the field.
Rebecca uses reward based training techniques based on canine behavioral science. With this type of training, you take advantage of the things that naturally motivate your dog (food, toys, play, praise, attention, etc.) to reward behavior you like. Unwanted behavior is ignored or a reward is removed.
Reward-based training is fast, effective, and humane. What's more, it works outside the classroom or private training session. The basic principles, once learned, can be applied with every ball you throw and every meal you serve - turning daily activities into training moments for your dog without any effort on your part.
